Editor’s Note: This article was revised in February 2022 to include the launch date for Enterprise Key Management.

Today’s work-from-anywhere world has turned the IT world upside down. Whether in-office, at home, or on the go, global teams need to be able to seamlessly use their favorite tools from any location—without putting their organization’s data at risk.

The increased prevalence of hybrid work has also increased the need for security measures. And with cyber threats becoming more sophisticated, finding the balance between empowering users and ensuring data security has not been easy for IT leaders. CIOs and IT decision-makers need agile solutions to power effortless collaboration—while being prepared for evolving security challenges.

Enter Asana Enterprise. Our secure and flexible work management solution is designed for global organizations. With Asana Enterprise, your organization can tackle any business challenge—no matter how complex—and scale with security measures you can trust. Today we’re excited to share our latest features and advanced admin controls that can help transform your IT departments into productivity departments.

Protect your organization with more admin controls

As data breaches evolve, passwords are no longer enough to protect against unauthorized logins. With Asana Enterprise, you can now add an extra layer of protection to your online accounts by mandating two-factor authentication. This feature especially comes in handy when you need to secure access for any users and guests who are not logging in to your organization’s system through SSO or SAML.

Want to take your security efforts even further? With the ability to manage approved workspaces through solutions like Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), you can prevent information from appearing in unauthorized areas by limiting access to Asana to only your approved workspaces on corporate devices and networks.

Some information is more sensitive than others and must be safeguarded for compliance purposes. This is why we created an additional admin role. With multiple admin roles in Asana, IT leaders can delegate the appropriate permission levels and reserve the most critical security settings to Super Admins.

Also, you won’t have to worry about important IT updates getting lost in email inboxes. With our new and simple-to-use Admin Announcements feature, your admins can directly publish notices in Asana.

Plus, with Enterprise Key Management (EKM) launching at the beginning of February 2022, organizations will soon have the option to use their own encryption key on information stored in Asana. Having the power to bring your own keys gives you more data control—while meeting your organization’s most critical compliance needs. To learn more about EKM, please contact our sales team.

Save time by getting the most out of your existing tech stack

If you’re an IT Manager, you’re likely managing dozens, if not hundreds, of tools and apps. To help IT teams get the most out of the tools they use every day, we’ve joined forces with leading identity solutions—including Okta and Microsoft Azure Active Directory. Now, with additional System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) capabilities, admins can automate group setup and synchronize profile updates with their preferred identity management providers. By taking advantage of these integrations, your IT teams can save time while ensuring only the right people have access.

Our Audit Log API makes it easy for you to detect security threats in Asana via Splunk, or any Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) provider of your choice with some development. With our out-of-the-box integration with Splunk, your IT teams can monitor and get a birds-eye view of key compliance-related activities in Asana directly from Splunk’s dashboard. In addition, admins can proactively secure their organization’s data and take action when suspicious activities occur by using timely, customized alerts.
